MEET ASH
What if we introduced ourselves in life by our most crippling insecurities?

Hi! My name is Ashley and I have cystic acne, I wear a size 8 in pants and I was recently diagnosed with PCOS that caused me to lose half my hair, abnormally gain weight and constantly bloat.

When I say this out loud, I can't help but laugh. Let's be honest here-nobody introduces themselves to others by stating their insecurities! But what we definitely do is think about our physical insecurities so often that they become conflated with our identity. News flash- our identity is found in the sacrificial love of Christ, not in our physical attributes! I can promise you, your inner self is far more beautiful than your outer self. Cliche? Maybe. Biblically sound? 100%.

The road God has led me down has not been easy. The enemy has used every trial, every chemical peel, every consultation, every hormone panel, every perscription, as an attempted method to kill my inner light. But, guess what? My God uses those same methods to brighten my light. I have come to learn that the enemy wants us to see ourselves through a lens of never ending self-sabotage, a lens of constant destruction. The God I know and love wants us to see ourselves as a beautifully imperfect work of His creation. I have now chosen to rejoice in the depths of acne, warped body image, and insecurity.
I can promise you the moment you choose to rejoice, God will turn what you thought your ugliest parts to be into your most beautiful strengths. I can confidently say I would not be who I am today without the cards of health struggles, physical insecurities, and mental battles I have been dealt; while accepting these realities are not always easy, they are always possible with His hand in mine.
“THE SOVEREIGN LORD IS MY STRENGTH; HE MAKES MY FEET FEEL LIKE THE FEET OF A DEER, HE ENABLES ME TO TREAD ON THE HEIGHTS."
